In this video you will learn the three main reasons not to buy a counter-depth refrigerator. Then we will show you how to make a standard depth refrigerator look counter-depth. In the end you will know what kind of refrigerator is right for you.

There are several reasons to consider buying a counter-depth refrigerator and in some instances it’s the only option to achieve that neater, more seamless look.

However, they do have less capacity for a higher price and are less featured than standard depth refrigerators.

The main attraction to a counter depth refrigerator is not seeing the less than attractive textured sides and a large refrigerator protruding into your kitchen.

What you can do, especially in new construction, is to build the cabinet out. A normal cabinet is 24 inches deep. You can have the cabinet built out to match the added depth of a standard refrigerator, so it looks more like a counter depth.

Just think about how you use your refrigerator. You do have options to incorporate a larger unit in your kitchen plan while still making it look good aesthetically.

I am about to completely remodel my kitchen, including all new appliances. Your channel has been very helpful, I wish you weren't so far away or I'd buy from your store. I disagree with you on counter-depth refrigerators though, and the title of this video was a bit negative considering so many of us are perfectly happy with counter-depth refrigerators. I like the clean lines of a contemporary kitchen and I think a refrigerator that sticks out like an afterthought is unattractive. In addition, the last time I had a huge refrigerator I ended up wasting food, it's too easy for items to be hidden and forgotten about. So I am off to watch your video on the best counter-depth refrigerators of 2021, I hope I don't click on it only for you to tell me not to buy one, lol.

I absolutely hate Counter depth refrigerators! It’s almost like gone are the days of a standard depth refrigerators. I guess I feel this way because our refrigerator sits alone with a rollout cabinet and a 40 inch tv over top of it.
