it’s one of the largest refrigerators you can buy for a 70-inch cabinet. It is pricey, yet smartly designed to cool consistently with an efficient compressor and the sensors located throughout the refrigerator.

The compressor did have issues but is now warrantied for up to 10 years, best in the industry by far.

  1. I would not have anything with the name LG, Maytag, or Samsung in my home even if it had been gifted for free.

  2. My 6 year old LG door in door (30 cf) was just like the one reviewed and died a few weeks ago. It’s the third time that it broke down and turned into a double oven. The first 2 times were after I’d had it for only 10 months. I had to throw out all of my food and the procedure for getting compensated up to $150 wasn’t worth the effort. The service department told me that the compressor was covered but I’d have to pay for the service call and labor ($375 + tax). If the issue is not the compressor, I’ll have to pay parts and labor. I really loved that refrigerator but after getting burnt so many times I knew I had to switch. My new Bosch has dual compressors and look like it belongs in an art museum. Yes, Life’s Good!

  3. Except when you do have a problem, no one works on them. Mine failed after 6 years and the national repair chain wanted $2000 to repair. I would never buy another LG refrigerator.

  4. Please be apprised that LG support is extremely poor. They are still having ongoing problems with their compressors. The BBB (better business bureau) has 4 times as many complaints about refrigerators than any other brand. My LG refrigerator lasted only 2.5 years. After 4 attempts they could not fix it. After 6 months of seeking a partial refund, they finally sent email refusing any offer and said the case was closed. I hope yours works-out OK, for everyone else, please consider a GE Profile, Frigidaire, Whirlpool or Bosch because they have an adequate support/maintenance program.
