DO NOT BUY MISEN FOR CERAMIC COOKTOPS
My new Misen pan on my ceramic stove developed a bump on my second attempt to cook with it.

Following the enclosed instructions I meticulously seasoned the pan in the oven using Misen’s own recommended seasoning wax. It was a lovely color after all that work and it disappeared right away on my ceramic cook-top as soon as I put some heat to it. Then it developed a bump, or a hotspot, as they call it. A hotspot on a pan like this would mean that the rest of the pan bottom would be warm, but not flat against the cook-top. I called Misen support and they sent me a new pan.

This time I decided to see what the pan would do if I tried to season it on the cook-top. The Misen pan turned blue pretty quickly after I cleaned off the factory coating completely. It turned blue and developed a bump again. I decided to keep going, heating a variety of areas, hoping to see blue appear like it does on Misen videos and other YouTube videos.

No luck – the surface wasn’t flat enough to create anything other than a unique painting.

My recommendation?
