Is KitchenAid’s Double Wall Oven Worth Buying? – KODE500ESS Review
The KitchenAid KODE500ESS double wall oven is one of the most popular wall ovens for a reason. It has good capacity and performs the basics of cooking well at a reasonable $3,599 price. However, you may be missing out on some newer features. We will look at some other cooking options and some competitive brands as well.
KitchenAid had the first truly large wall oven at 5 cubic feet. That’s bigger than most stoves and you have 2 of them for 10 cubic feet. KitchenAid was amongst the first with two convection ovens for more even baking. You had a meat probe for roasting.
KitchenAid was also the first with convection conversion. You would input your old regular recipe and hit the convection conversion button and just like that you would have a convection recipe without the guesswork.
However, wall ovens have changed since then. If you want two big convection ovens, then it’s a good consideration. They also have some decent package opportunities with other appliances as well.
However, before you do, you may have more updated choices better designed for you use your oven.

Read big box reviews. Big problems with this model when it comes to the self-clean feature blowing the thermal sensor
This is not a good product!!! The top is not glass and will chip. The control panel is in a bad spot you constantly make it beep while trying to wipe it off since it is on the top of the stove. The cleaning feature works with steam and it does not remove grease, be prepared to use oven cleaner. Lastly mine is not even 2 years old and the seal coating is coming off of the oven door and I called KitchenAid and they told me sorry it is out of warranty.
