Cake
-150g (2/3 cup)Butter, soften room temperature (I am using salted butter, feel free to use unsalted)
-200g (1 cup) Sugar, granulated
-225g (2 cup minus 2 tbsps flour) All purpose Flour, sifted (1 cup =120g)
-3 Large eggs, room temperature
-90ml/g Milk, room temperature or slightly warm (regular milk)
-50ml/g Vegetable oil
-1 tsp Baking powder
-1 tsp Baking soda
-1/4 tsp Salt
-Red & Green food coloring, I am using gel food coloring
Frosting
-180g (3/4 cup + 1 tbsp) Butter, soften room temperature
-380g (3 1/4 cups) Icing/Confectioners sugar
-1 tbsp Heavy whipping cream (can use milk instead)
-1 tsp Vanilla
-Few Maraschino cherries
-Green food coloring
-Wilton 70 nozzle
Sugar Syrup
-60ml of Water
-60g Sugar
*Equal parts of sugar and water mixed together
Pan
-Two 2 inch pan greased and bottom lines with parchment paper.
Bake
-Preheat oven to 350F degrees(180C)
-Bake for about 35-45 minutes until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Baking time will depend according to oven
Tools
-Two different size cake cutters. Those two cutters should provide the same width when the cake rounds are cut
You can use two different size plates for this as well.
