Cow Peas Ready to Harvest at Deep South Texas
Some of the cow peas I planted the first week in May are ready to harvest. These are the Pink Eyed Purple Hull Peas and are very similar to Black Eyed Peas. I picked a two gallon bucket of pea pods. Once shelled I ended up with 2 lbs. This amounted to 7 cups of shelled fresh peas. The Red Ripper peas need another two weeks. These peas are very productive and really tasty.
