Check out the best way how to make homemade hummus from dried chickpeas – it is super creamy, healthy and delicious served with baked pita chips.
Hummus is popular Middle Eastern and Mediterranean dip, spread or savory dish made from dried chickpeas (garbanzo beans).
Made with fresh ingredients it is vegan and dairy free dish!
Instructions:
Soak chickpeas in the cold water overnight (at least 8 hours).
Drain the water and rinse.
Cover the chickpeas with water by 2 inch, add 1 tsp baking soda in the water to help removing skin from chickpeas. Bring to boil, then lower the heat and cook for 1-2 hours (until soft). If you see that water is reducing too fast – add more water to the pot.
Cool it down and remove the skin.
Keep the water after chickpeas are cooked, you will use it later.
