Lasagne Recipe | How To Make The Best Lasagne

Ingredients-
2 Tbsp (40ml) – Olive Oil
2 – Brown Onions, Diced
6 – Garlic Cloves, Diced or Minced
1 – Stalk of Celery, Diced
3 – Small Carrots, Diced
6g – Oregano, Chopped
3 – Sprigs Rosemary Leaves Only, Chopped
4 – Sprigs of Thyme, Leaves Only, Chopped
10g – Basil, Chopped
230g – Sun-Dried Tomatoes, Roughly Chopped (Optional)
8 Rashers (220g) – Streaky Bacon
500g – Beef Mince
500g – Pork Mince
300ml – Red Wine (Can be substituted for Beef, Chicken or Vegetable Stock)
1.2kg (2.6Lb) – Tinned Diced Tomatoes
2 Cups – Parmesan Cheese, Freshly Grated
350g – Lasagne Sheets *See Note Below*
Bechamel Sauce –
900ml – Full Fat Milk
90g – Unsalted Butter
90g – Plain Flour (All Purpose)
1/2 – Brown Onion
2 – Dried or Fresh Bay Leaves
3 – Cloves
1/2 Cup – Parmesan Cheese, Freshly Grated
Notes –
I used instant lasagne sheets in this recipe, which means they don’t need to be pre cooked. If you are using Lasagne sheets that do need to be cooked, bring a pot of water to a boil and add in 1 Tbsp (15ml) Olive Oil. Place the pasta sheets into the water and cook per packet instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, moving them around frequently to avoid them sticking. If you are using fresh sheets, follow the recipe as I did in the video.
Substitutes –
500g – Beef Mince can be substituted for pork mince
500g – Pork Mince can be substituted for Beef Mince
300ml – Red Wine can be substituted for Beef, Chicken or Vegetable Stock (See below for links to these recipes)
6g – Fresh Oregano can be substituted for
2 1/2 tsp of Dried Oregano
3 – Sprigs of Rosemary Leaves can be substituted for 1 tsp of Dried Rosemary
4 – Sprigs of Thyme Leaves can be substituted for 1 tsp of Dried Thyme
10g – Basil Leaves can be substituted for 3 1/2 tsp of Dried Basil
