Since recording this the service guy did show up 3 months after I called, looked at it and said the earliest they’ll get back to us is 6 weeks more. Problem is not the compressor as I stated in the video but a sensor in the back with is specific to that unit. He did however say that the compressor likely will fail. Avoid at all costs!!!

so others shouldn't buy because you got a lemon? The newer version of this is a lot better. I have the 30 CU FT 3 door version with Craft Ice, Instaview Door-in-door and I love it! I had my previous LG for 14 years and only replaced it due to the interior Ice Maker finally dying. Good Luck!
It looks like they replaced the ice makers on this fridge from what I'm seeing. It doesn't look the same anymore. I wonder if the compressors are the same though. Also to the point that servicemen always complain about Samsung and LG fridges. I believe it has something to do with their popularity because they are in everyone's homes. However, I do think Samsung appliances are worse as a whole when compared to LG. I was considering Whirlpool but after reading through so many reviews they have issues as well. It just seems these newer fridges aren't made the same anymore.
Which refrigerator has the most durable can take a beating compressor?
Please be apprised that LG support is extremely poor. They are still having ongoing problems with their compressors. The BBB (better business bureau) has 4 times as many complaints about their refrigerators than any other brand. My LG refrigerator lasted only 2.5 years. After 4 attempts they could not fix it. After 6 months of seeking a partial refund, they finally sent email refusing any offer and said the case was closed. I hope yours works-out OK, for everyone else, please consider a GE Profile, Frigidaire, Whirlpool or Bosch because they have an adequate support/maintenance program.
