Melon Pan Japanese Bread メロンパン
Melon Pan is a Japanese bread that resembles a melon. It’s covered with crunchy and sweet cookie crust.

COOKIE DOUGH CRUST:
1/2 cup softened butter(110g)
3/4 cup powdered sugar (90g)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 and ¼ cup all purpose flour
½ tsp baking powder

BREAD DOUGH:
1 cup milk (250ml)
1 large egg
2 and 1/4 tsp instant yeast (7g)
3 and ¼ cups all purpose flour (400g)
¼ cup sugar (50g)
1 tsp salt (4g)
¼ cup softened butter (55g)
And couple of tablespoons of sugar for dipping

WHAT MAKES A BREAD DENSE AND HEAVY IN TEXTURE?
-Not kneading the dough properly.
-The flour could have too low protein content.
-There could be too much salt in the recipe.
-You did not proof it enough.
-You could have killed the yeast by leaving the dough
to rise in a place that was too hot.
-Expired yeast.
