In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to achieve a silky smooth finish with American Buttercream. For years I’ve only been making Italian and Swiss meringue buttercream because I hated the grainy texture of the American version, but with this method, I can safely say American Buttercream is now a go-to recipe of mine!

3 cups icing sugar
1 cup unsalted butter
1/3 cup heavy or whipping cream
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp meringue powder
