Hi Doug, Your detailed reviews, pix & recipes are much appreciated! Clear, informative & to the point! NICE and I am now subscribed!
So, I've been researching AF for over a year, mostly bcuz the reviews are ALL OVER THE BOARD! I'd get interested in one & then read review, after review of serious probs! It was so confusing & discouraging but then I'd try again bcuz I want an AF, darn it! After learning a lot more & getting back to my search I became interested in buying this Dreo, & for many good reasons but I was SO GLAD to find your helpful review, as well!
Originally, I thought I might want a 10-12 QT AF w/more bells & whistles but I kept reading how they don't cook evenly or quickly, they require much more rotation of (hot) trays during cooking, more clean up & storage of accessories & they take up a lot of counter space!. Also, being that I rent, I have to worry about an AF damaging cabinets & counter tops. I WONDERED IF YOU CAN TELL ME IF THIS AF GETS VERY HOT UNDER, ABOVE OR AROUND THE UNIT TO WHERE IT MIGHT DO DAMAGE? I'll probably buy a silicone pad for underneath & slide it out from the wall when in use but my kitchen is small so I only have so much room so it's still a worry for me.
Another reason I was interested in this AF is I kept reading 5 star reviews w/hardly any complaints, & on many different sites! Customers kept saying they loved it, it's quality made, it crisps & browns food evenly (w/only 1500 watts (TY for commenting on the lower element inside bcuz now I understand why it doesn't need to be higher!). FYI- in some other AF reviews w/ higher wattage customers complained about them tripping their fuse box so perhaps Dreo has the perfect combo of wattage & design?

Also, I read that SOME OF THE CONSORI ACCESSORIES WORK W/THIS AF, TOO SO WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO COOK A STACKED MEAL but then the lower element might prevent that possibility? COULD YOU TEST THIS OUT FOR US PLEASE, DOUG? UPDATE: I read more reviews on Amazon tonight and they said foods require different cooking times so it is possible with small amounts of each but there's also a learning curve. Someone said add your veggies when you flip your meat? (I would imagine they cannot touch?). ANY OPINIONS ON THIS DOUG? I'm new to AF.
Also, TY for sharing that the light is bright inside. I'm going to call the company tomorrow at 888 520-3736 to make sure the bulb can be replaced when it dies. Some AF light bulbs cannot! I will run these same questions by them but it sure is nice when an outside review can answer them, though I did hear they have good customer support.

Also, I liked that the unit has a sleek design (no finger prints, yay, TY Doug!), w/a descent sized basket inside, yet doesn't take up too much counter space. Q- WITH THIS BASKET STYLE CAN I COOK MEAT & FRIED FOODS, SIDE BY SIDE W/O THEM GETTING SOGGY or do they have to be cooked in separate batches…one possible disadvantage I was concerned about? Also, I found the outside dimensions of the unit which are 12.40" L (across the front) x 14.88" W (from back to front counting handle), x 13.62" H (tall) and the inside basket is 9.6" L x 9.6" W x 4.78" H from the manufacturer reviews. I know the window has limited viewing but other models/brands had water leakage in their windows when washed but all reviews said they would rather have a viewing window.

Lastly, I couldn't find any other AF that offered a 5 YEAR WARRANTY?!?! At least without buying an extended one!
All in all, I have to say I finally feel good about buying this AF! I'm going to ask my questions but am pretty sold on this one! I do have to say it has only been listed on Amazon for about 6 months while others w/mixed reviews were listed for several years but the bad reviews came out right away in less than 6 months. So, I'm sticking with the 5 star, 5 year warranty plus Amazon ships and sells it, so they will have your back as well!
Hope my research helps others with this venture!
Happy Air Frying!
