August Garden – What Survives the Heat
It has been a HOT summer at Deep South Texas. Let’s take a look at what is surviving in the garden. Bananas, Sweet Potatoes, Cow Peas, and Garlic Chives are doing great. The Moringa is also doing well. It has been too hot for the peppers though.
The Red Ripper Peas I purchased from Hoss Tools are growing great, and are very prolific, but I am not sure they are really Red Rippers.
Danny and Wanda @Deep South Homestead generously sent me some of their Red Ripper seeds, and I have planted those out. The seeds from DHS were larger and a different shape. They were more in line with what I was expecting. I have planted them and will provide updates on the results.
