Easy Homemade Sliced Cheese / Processed cheese Recipe by Tiffin Box | Cheese for burger and sandwich
Hello everyone !
Today’s recipe is easy homemade sliced cheese/american processed cheese. You can make cheese slices with this method with whole milk, heavy cream, non dairy vegan almond, coconut, or soy milk! You can even flavor the cheese!
If you are using heavy cream then don’t add the butter.
You can make this sliced cheese by adding your favorite grated cheese,flavorful spices, garlic powder, jalapenos, hot sauce or even mac and cheese powder!
In this recipe I used “Agar Agar”…..Instead of agar you can use Gelatine. Though agar is a great substitute to gelatin, don’t expect the same results when replacing gelatin with agar in a recipe. … Gelatin can give a «creamy» texture whereas agar gives a firmer texture.
And agar is much more powerful than gelatin.
1 teaspoon agar powder is equivalent to 8 teaspoon gelatin powder. You can buy it at specialty grocery stores or order it online. It isn’t expensive and a little goes a long way. Agar agar is made from seaweed and is natural, and tasteless.
Ingredients ;
Milk – 1 cup
Butter – 1 tblsp
salt – 1/4 tsp
Agar agar powder – 1 to 1.5 tsp
ANY KIND OF grated cheese – 1 cup
food color – 1/4 tsp
