How to make French Macarons / Macaron Recipe
I’m going to teach you how to make French Macarons. This macaron recipe is easy and simple to follow, although they can be a little temperamental to make. If they don’t succeed the first time make sure you give them another go.

If you would like to know how to make macarons without almond flour you can use other kinds of nut flours like hazelnut or pistachio flour instead of almond. This recipe is also gluten free so if you are trying to cut out gluten from your diet this is a perfect dessert or sweet treat.

If you have any question about this recipe or how to make the macarons then leave me a comment and I’ll get back to you. Ingredients for French Macarons

1 Cup of Icing Sugar
3/4 Cup of Ground Almonds / Almond Meal
2 Egg Whites
1/4 Cup of Castor Sugar
1 Teaspoon of Food Colouring
1 Teaspoon of Essence

Process the icing sugar and ground almonds in a food processor. In a clean bowl separate the eggs and use a hand mixer to beat the egg whites until soft peaks form. Add in the castor sugar and beat again until soft peaks form and the egg whites have become shiny. Next add the essence and food colouring and beat until well combined. Using a metal spoon fold the dry ingredients into the egg whites until it becomes a lava like consistency. Pipe the macarons onto a baking sheet and leave for about 20 minutes to form a shell on the outside. Bake in a 160 Celsius / 320 Fahrenheit oven for 20 minutes. Leave to cool before filling with ganache, butter cream or any filling of your choice.

Ganache Recipe

100ml of Cream
100g Dark Chocolate

Heat cream in a saucepan until simmering. Take off the heat and pour over the chocolate. Leave for a few minutes before stirring until the chocolate has completely melted.
