This salad is perfect for any event where there’s a crowd to feed and warm weather involved. It’s the ultimate #potluck #saladrecipe and a total BBQ #sidedish win!
First, let’s talk about what to serve your #SevenLayerSalad in! Glass is a must — you can use a glass bowl or casserole dish. You could also use a trifle dish, but it makes it a little bit difficult to get to the bottom layer, so keep that in mind!
The bottom four layers consist of Iceberg Lettuce, sweet peas, hard-boiled eggs, and grape tomatoes! The top half of the salad is made up of a creamy mayonnaise-based dressing, crispy bacon, and grated Cheddar cheese.
The dressing comes together so easy! To make it, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, Parmesan cheese, and salt. Then refrigerate it while you make the rest of the salad.
On to the #iceberglettuce! Chop it into bite-sized pieces and dry it well! If there is water clinging to the lettuce it will end up soggy. No, thank you!
Fill the bowl half-way with lettuce, then add the grape tomatoes, followed by the hard-boiled eggs, and then the peas! After the peas go in, spread the dressing across the top, all the way to the edges.
Now, for the really good part — cheese and bacon! Fresh grated Cheddar is best, if time allows! You WILL taste the difference. Promise! Then, pan-sear some cut up bacon and top it all off!
So that’s it! All seven layers of our #7LayerSalad ready to rock! Refrigerate your salad until ready to serve, and then, enjoy!
