Traditional Chocolate Bûche de Noël Recipe – Chocolates Yule Log
This Traditional Chocolate Bûche de Noël Recipe is super easy to make and is perfect for the Holidays. You will love this family recipe, can be made in a chocolate version and vanilla version, you only need to skip the cocoa powder for the vanilla version!

Here’s what you need:

– 6 eggs
– 1/2 Tsp of vanilla
-1 1/2 cup of sugar
– 1 1/2 cup of flour (220 g) – I used all purpose
– 20 g of cocoa powder
– 1 Tbsp of baking powder

Instructions:

1. Combine eggs and vanilla. Mix on hight for 2 to 3 minutes.
2. Add sugar and mix for at least 5 minutes or until the mixture doubles in size and becomes lighter in colour.
3. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add cocoa powder (you can add more than the quantity I used).
4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, and mix on low until combined.
5. Line the baking tray with baking paper and pour the mixture.
6. Use your spatula to spread the mixture.
7. Bake, in a preheated oven, at 180C (350F), for 10 to 12 minutes.
8. Transfer onto a wet towel, allow to rest for 5 minutes, and wrap with towel.
9. Set aside to fully cool at room temperature.
10. Fill with buttercream (I used my “Chocolate buttercream recipe”) & decorate!
11. Enjoy!!
