The classic Sidecar cocktail. Said to have been created at the Ritz Hotel in Paris in 1921 and named after a motorcycle sidecar, obviously, owned by an American Army captain stationed in Paris during World War I, or The Great War as it was referred to at the time. It first appeared in Harry MacElhone’s Harry’s ABC of Mixing Cocktails in 1922
