Chicken and Shrimp Siomai Recipe | Chicken Wonton
Siomai is a type of traditional Chinese dumpling. In Cantonese cuisine, it is usually served as a dim sum snack. This delicious snack is popular to Filipinos. In the Philippines, siomai is often ground pork, chicken, beef, shrimp, among others, combined with extenders like garlic, singkamas, carrots and the like which is then wrapped in wonton wrappers. It is commonly steamed, with a popular variant being fried and resulting in a crisp exterior. In this recipe, I will show you how easy it is to make one.

Here’s what you’ll need:

500 grams ground chicken
400 grams shrimp (coarsely chopped)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp fish sauce
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp sesame oil
1 egg
5 cloves garlic (chopped)
1/2 cup green onions
